SPECIAL SERVICES
In certain circumstances, we can arrange to pick up firearms rather than require the individual to arrange their own transportation. If you have particular limitations due to health problems or other concerns, please contact us for a consultation.
IMPORT / EXPORT PROCEDURES
Firearms exports are no longer handled by MilArm Co. Ltd.
Imports are still possible through MilArm.
Please note than an individual import can run as long as 6 months over and above the time to produce the item ordered, and can be quite an expensive proposition.
MilArm Co. Ltd. does not source items to be imported. You must secure the item from a vendor in the US and make all arrangements for payment of the item and shipping costs to exporter.
Once the item is secured, please have the vendor and/or yourself contact both our exporter and ourselves with the details of the purchase. Arrangements can be made at that time to have the item/s shipped to either Sans-Nom in Tacoma WA or Civil Arms in Windham ME.
We can be reached by email at milarm@milarm.com or by fax at 780-424-5306 (telephone details will NOT be accepted).
Our exporters of record are David Gadbois of Sans-Nom Inc. or Shannon Shuman-Breton of Civil Arms Inc.
Sans-Nom Inc.
P.O. Box 1452
Tacoma, WA 98401-1452
United States
PH: 1-253-327-1911
Civil Arms Inc.
399 Roosevelt Trail
P.O. Box 503
Windham, ME 04062
PH: 1-855-296-2933
FX: 1-207-894-5805
We will require the vendors name, address, telephone and contact person as well as your personal information in addition to all of the relevant information about the item being imported.
If the import is a firearm, we will require the make, model, caliber, barrel length, serial number and any details relating to the specific configuration. Please detail any accessories which are included with the purchase, for example but not limited to, scopes (include serial if applicable) rings, tools or any other item/s to ship with the export.
Once the item to import is received by the exporter, MilArm can proceed with applying for any necessary permits. The permitting process in Canada is generally quite quick however at certain times of the year the workload in Ottawa can run into 6-8 weeks.
With appropriate import permissions in hand, MilArm will forward a documents packet to the exporter to allow them to apply for the necessary Export License. Again this process is generally only a week or so but at certain times of the year the US State Department workload can cause delays.
In order to be cost effective, your item MAY NOT ship immediately upon receipt by our exporters. We usually try to import in excess of $5000.00 per shipment to keep costs for all reasonable. If your item is received shortly after we have processed a shipment, it may be held until a large enough group is ready to go for another export.
Please check with us in advance of ordering if your export is time sensitive.
Once the shipment is en-route, MilArm handles all final details until the item is delivered to you.
Our fee structure is as follows;
Use of MilArms license $100.00 + Export fee of 8% of the value of item exported + Your specific percentage of realized freight + Customs/brokerage + duty (if applicable) + GST = Grand Total
A single firearm with a value of $1000.00 could quite easily incur $350.00 to $500.00 in additional fees upon import, yet a group of 3 or 4 firearms might run $600.00 to $750.00 dependant on the origin and specific values of the arms.
As the above is only a brief outline of import procedures, we would encourage clients to call, email or fax us with specific questions.
